Local community reaps benefit of mangrove reforestation
In celebration of the Coral Triangle Day on June 9, the Philippine Coral Triangle Initiative National Coordinating Committee (NCCC) organized volunteers and community members to plant 1,000 mangrove seedlings in “Ang Pulo” (The Island) in Barangay Balibago, Calatagan, Batangas and join in the coastal clean up and pledge signing. Celebrate Coral Triangle day with music from "Mga Awit ng Mandaragat" (Songs from the Seafarer)
CTI-SEA is proud to share the music from this ensemble album which celebrates the sea as a source of life and livelihood. Contemporary Philippine singer and songwriter Joey Ayala wrote the songs. Top Filipino artists were invited to collaborate on and perform the songs. (Listen to the music)
Getting the Indicators Right: Review of Coral Triangle Pacific M&E Systems
The team implementing the Regional Technical Assistance (RETA) on Strengthening Coastal and Marine Resource Management in the Coral Triangle of the Pacific (CT Pacific) has reviewed the RETA’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system to ensure that its indicators of Coral Triangle health remain aligned with updated country and regional development frameworks.
